LAINA R. BORIS graduated cum laude from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology and Russian.  She received her Juris Doctorate from St. John’s University School of Law, where she was Articles Editor on the New York International Law Review (“NYILR”).  While at St. John’s , the NYILR published her Note entitled LOOTERS AND TRAFFICKERS AND DESTROYERS, OH MY: Criminals Must Be Held Liable for Violating Jus Cogens and Prosecuted by the International Criminal Court, N.Y. INT'L L. REV. (Summer 2017-Winter 2018 double edition).

Laina has been admitted to the New York State Bar since 2019.

Prior to joining Weiner, Millo, Morgan and Bonanno, Laina served as an Agency Attorney for the New York City Administration for Children’s Services (“ACS”), litigating child neglect proceedings in Family Court on behalf of the Commissioner of ACS.  Laina also drafted the following judicial opinion for the Honorable Joseph F. Bianco during her last year of law school: Barrett v. Berryhill, No. 16-CV-4660 (JFB), 2018 WL 895523 (E.D.N.Y. Feb. 14, 2018).
